a live group session for moms in academia
power hour - moms in academia
A 90-minute live group session for moms in academia who are technically fine, secretly disappearing, and tired of pretending the math adds up!
If you've been telling yourself you'll feel less behind once this chapter is done - once teaching ends, once the kids are a bit older, once the next round of funding lands - this is for you.
If you're holding a PhD, a postdoc, a faculty post, AND tiny humans, and you have around 9-11 hours of real deep-work time a week instead of 40, and nobody talks about that math out loud - this is for you.
If you're technically fine - chapter on track, kids healthy, supervisor happy - and you still feel like some quieter version of yourself is slowly being filed away - this is for you.
You don't need another productivity hack.
You need 90 minutes in a room of moms who get it, and one boundary you'll actually keep next week.
the shape of the session
Designed so you arrive heavy and leave a little lighter
-
ARRIVAL. A chat-only check-in. No turning your camera on. No introducing your CV. Just show up as you are.
-
THE REAL COST MAP. Name what mothering takes from your academic self, and what academia takes from your mothering self. On paper. Out loud.
-
BREAKOUT ONE. In a small group of 3, the one invisible task you with someone else would just do.
-
THE POWER HOUR METHOD. 3 moves that change the week: Name it. Shrink it. Defend it.
-
BREAKOUT TWO. Design ONE boundary you'll keep for the next seven days.
-
COMMITMENT & CLOSE. You leave with a sentence. Not a system. A sentence.
what's included
YOURS TO KEEP, EVEN IF SUNDAY GETS WEIRD
-
The 90-minute live session with me, a PhD ADHD-Informed coach, in a small group capped at 15, so you'll actually feel heard
-
The Power Hour Workbook. A 10-page printable PDF, sent 24 hours before the session. Yours to print, scribble on, or mark up on a tablet.
-
The recording, sent the day after. If bedtime overruns or your toddler appears at minute 47, you have not lost the session. You have just postponed it.
-
A 10% discount code for a 1:1 coaching session you book within 30 days of the Power Hour. It's just there if you want it
-
A small, honest room of moms who are also doing this math. This part is the most important.
WHO THIS POWER HOUR IS FOR
IT'S FOR YOU IF YOU'RE
-
A mom inside academia
-
A PhD student, postdoc, lecturer, faculty member, or research staffer
-
Working in any discipline, at any career stage
-
Tired of "balance" framing and looking for honest, structural conversation instead
-
Comfortable with a small live group

a note from me
I'm Maria Stefanidi. I coach PhD students, postdocs, and academics - many of them moms, many of them late-diagnosed ADHDers, all of them brilliant and quietly exhausted.
I didn't plan to specialize in moms in academia. They found me. One after another, in 1:1 sessions, the same sentence kept landing on the table:
"I think I've forgotten what I actually wanted from this."
Not the dissertation. The career. The whole thing.
90 minutes. Small. Live. No performance. No proving you've read enough. Just the conversation we're not having our loud anywhere else.
If that sounds like the room you want to be in - I'd love for you to be in it.

things you might be wondering...
Q: I might have to step away for a kid. Is that okay?
A: Yes, Caneras off when you need to, nute when you need to, return when you can. The session is built for the actual lives of the moms in it, not for an imaginary version where everyone has uninterrupted childcare on a Sunday.
Q: What if I can't make it live?
A: The recording is sent the next day, and yours to keep. You bought a 90-minute experience, not a 4 pm slot.
Q: Will there be breakouts? I'm shy.
A: Yes - two short breakouts in groups of 3. You'll have a chat-only arrival first, so by the time the breakouts happen, you'll have already heard the room. If you want to keep your camera off in the main room and only turn it on for the small breakout, that's fine.
Q: Will there be another round?
A: I'm planning round two for late June or July. If you want to join the waiting list, please email me at info@yourphdcoach.com, and I'll let you know when dates open.
Q: I have a question that isn't here
A: Send me an email at info@yourphdcoach.com. I read everything!
